Your AI engineer is three months away. The AI feature is due this quarter.
I’m Naveen, an IIT Kanpur engineer who has been the first engineer at two startups. I build the AI part of your product end to end, from data to production, in two weeks. You keep hiring; your roadmap stops waiting.
I take on three founders a month. Fixed scope, fixed price.
The next 90 days, two ways
A typical senior AI hire takes about a quarter from job post to first meaningful pull request.
Hiring an AI engineer
Working with me
What I build
Six problems funded teams bring to me most. If yours isn’t here, it’s probably a cousin of one.
- The demo works. Production doesn't.
- I add evals, guardrails and fallbacks so answers stay right on messy, real user input, and you can see when they don't.
- Customers send you PDFs, scans and spreadsheets.
- Extraction pipelines that turn documents into clean, structured data your product can use. I've run this on 50,000+ business documents.
- Support tickets are eating your week.
- An agent that resolves the recurring issues on its own and escalates only what needs a human.
- Users can't find things in your own data.
- Search and retrieval (RAG) over your docs, tickets or product data, tuned until it returns the right answer, not just a plausible one.
- Your LLM bill grows faster than revenue.
- Caching, model routing and small fine-tuned open models where a frontier model is overkill.
- Someone on the team builds reports by hand.
- Generation pipelines that draft the report from your data. At LudoNaira this cut reporting man-hours by 60%.
Recent work
Two recent projects. The people I built them for are one message away.
RegAffairs AI
Regulatory research with cited answers, across 160M+ records from 420+ official sources.
An advanced RAG pipeline over pharma regulatory datasets (drug approvals, trials, shortages and recalls), so every answer is grounded in and cited to the official source instead of a model's memory.
Ask Shikher Verma, CTOLudoNaira
Startup where I was founding engineer, acquired by VaiaClimate.
Moved the entire production infrastructure from one AWS region to another and rebuilt it as production-grade Terraform, so every environment is reproducible and infra changes go through code review.
Ask Aral Avasthi, Co-founder
How it works
You talk to the person writing the code at every step.
- 1
Call
You walk me through the product and what the AI needs to do. I tell you honestly whether I’m the right person for it.
- 2
Audit
I read your code and data, test what exists, and send a written plan: what to build, what it costs to run, and what can go wrong.
- 3
Build sprint
I ship it to production in your repo, with evals so you can measure quality. Then I hand it over with docs and a recorded walkthrough. The audit fee comes off the price.
Where I’ve done this

B.Tech in aerospace engineering from IIT Kanpur, 2018. Seven years of building since: aircraft software at Honeywell, then startups as the first engineer in the room. I co-founded one company and was founding engineer at another through its acquisition.
I also build and run my own AI products, so I know what shipping costs after the demo.
LudoNaira, acquired by VaiaClimate
Founding engineer, then lead engineer
2024 to now
- Built an agentic support system (Google ADK, FastAPI) that resolves recurring user issues and escalates only critical ones.
- Built LLM training infrastructure on AWS Fargate and HuggingFace; structured 50,000+ business documents and trained custom adapter models.
- Designed an AI reporting backend (Kafka, event-driven) that cut ESG reporting man-hours by 60%.
- Led a team of three engineers and made architecture calls with the CTO through the acquisition.
Mainsscore
Full-stack engineer
2022 to 2024
- Microservices on AWS EKS and infrastructure as code: 30% lower infra cost, 20% better reliability.
Battlewits
Co-founder, full-stack
2020 to 2022
- Built the product that 10,000+ students used to practise 2.5 million questions.
- Cut server cost 30% with caching and rebuilt CI/CD so we shipped 60% more often.
Honeywell
Software engineer
2018 to 2020
- Aircraft cockpit displays and a real-time LIDAR and RADAR sensor-fusion algorithm, where software errors aren't an option.
Products I built and run
- founders.pageA homepage for every founder: who you are, what you've built, your links and revenue.
- OllamaOCROCR API that turns PDFs, images and scans into clean text in one call, with per-page pricing.
- LinkDeckAIAI carousel generator that helps LinkedIn creators grow with engaging posts.
- ReelGenAIOne-click short-form video generation for businesses.
- iloveThumbnailAI thumbnail generation with batch processing.
- CSEMentorsMarketplace matching exam aspirants with mentors.
Questions founders ask
Why not just hire?
You should, and I'll help. I build version one, document it, and hand it to your hire with a walkthrough. If you want, I'll sit in on technical interviews too. Your hire starts on a working system instead of a blank repo.
Who owns the code?
You do, from the first commit. I work in your GitHub, your cloud account and your Slack. Happy to sign your NDA and IP assignment before we talk details.
Where are you, and will our hours overlap?
Bangalore. My evenings overlap with US mornings, and I cover the full European working day. You'll get a written update every day.
What if the audit says don't build it?
Then you've saved a quarter of engineering time. You keep the written plan either way, and if you go ahead with the sprint, the audit fee comes off the price.
Why only three founders a month?
Because I write the code myself. No juniors, no account managers. Three engagements is the most I can run while staying fast and in the details.
How does payment work?
Fixed price, agreed before we start. Half at kickoff, half at handoff. Card or bank transfer.
